Regulations for performance competition 2008
GENERAL RULES:
1. The Objective of the Competition is to propagate current trends and techniques in composition and performance among learners and teachers of basic level of musical education.
2. The organizators are B.Rutkowski Music School of 1st degree in Krakow.
3. Auditions for the Performance Competition will be held 17th to 20 of January 2008 in main hall of B.Rutkowski Music School, ul. Józefińska 10 in Krakow.
4. The Jury will be appointed by the Director of Center of Artistic Education.
PARTICIPANTS:
1. Competition is dedicated for apprentices at 1st level of musical education in two age groups:
- I group - up to 11 years of age /born after the 1st of January 1997/,
- II group - from 12 to 16 years of age /born after the 1st of January 1992 to 31st of December 1996/,
2. Participants will be marked in three performance categories:
- A category - piano solo,
- B category - instrument solo and/or instrument solo with accompaniament,
- C category - chamber ensemble.
PROGRAMME:
1. The Competition requires performance of compositions of contemporary Polish and foreign composers containing various elements of contemporary trends and techniques of composition and performance.
2. A Category include:
- one obligatory composition of Polish composer chosen from the list attached,
- two compositions of participant choise of different character.
3. Categories B and C include:
- one obligatory composition of Polish composer /transcriptions and arrangements allowed/,
- two compositions of participant choise of different character.
4. Accepted are compositions utilising tape, CD or other electro-acoustic transducers.
5. Time for presentation should not exceede 15 minutes.
6. Presentation from notes allowed.
THE COMPETITION:
1. Auditions will be held in alphabetical order starting from the leetter drew after closing of the list of participants.
2. The order of auditions will be kept by The Secretary of the Jury.
3. Copies of notes of compositions chosen by the participants shall be available for The Jury's inspection.
4. The Participant may be disqualified if the compositions chosen does not meet thecriteria of the Competion.
5. Auditions are open for public.
AWARDS:
1. Grand Prix will be awarded for best performance. In each age category 3 awards will be awarded. Honourable awards are possible.
2. Each participant will recieve a diploma of participation.
3. Anticipated are Diplomas for teachers of laureates and for outstanding accompanists.
4. Laureates are obliged to take part in Concert of Laureates on 20 January 2008 in Concert Hall of Kraków-Podgórze City Council, Rynek Podgórski 1. Compositions for the final concert will be chosen by the Jury from competition programme of the Laureates.
REGISTRATION:
1. Registration of the participants requires Application Form to be sent untill 30 November 2007 for the school's adress with postscript " SREBRNA SZYBKA"
2. Registration fee 15 EUR per each participant
shall be paid for account: 23 1060 0076 0000 3200 0096 3210
Payment confirmation should be attached to Application Form.
Payment will not be returned in case of resignation from participation.
3. Notification of admission for participation in competition will be sent /by post, mail or phone/ within week since closing list of participants.
4. Application for participation in competition equals acceptation of all requirements of this Statue with no possibility of appeal.
ACCOMODATION:
1. Participants cover all the costs of travel and accomodation in Krakow.
2. Informations of accomodation available in School's secretary.
